Are there rooms with disabled access?

There are a limited number of rooms that have been outfitted with the necessary furnishings for those with mobility issues which are located on the first floor. To ensure that you are allocated one of these rooms please contact the hotel directly.

Is the hotel pet friendly?

Animals are not permitted inside the property with the exception of service animals. Pets are more than welcome on the terrace outside however if you wish to visit and dine outside.

Where can I park my car?

The hotel does not have its own private parking, however, there are parking bays outside of the hotel (pay and display). If you park in one of the bays you may purchase a £4.00 parking permit from reception which will allow you to park from when you arrived until midday the following day. You can purchase more than one permit to cover your stay at the time of checking in.

​If the parking bay in front of the hotel is full, you could also park at the Sandgate Road Car Park which is 2 mins walk. It is pay & display only, the hotel cannot issue permits.

All of our ceremony rooms are romantic and stylish, and provide the perfect setting for intimate & classical wedding breakfasts and receptions. Our rooms include The Playdell Suite, which accommodates 50 guests and boasts a red carpet, private bar, and dancefloor and our Romney and Garden Suites, which have space for 30 guests, and are best suited to intimate weddings.

Located on the famous Leas, next to the Clifton Gardens our venue provides picturesque scenes for all your photo requirements. Situated only 5 minutes’ walk from the Town centre with paths leading down to the Beach, the Harbour Arm and Folkestone’s Creative Quarter, there is plenty to explore.

After deciding on the perfect food and drinks packages on the lead up to your big day, you and your guests can now sit down and enjoy the moment. Whether you choose one of our set menus that have been designed to perfectly complement our wedding packages, or you would like to create a bespoke menu tailored to you, our talented and experienced chefs are committed to cater for your specific needs.

Terms & Conditions

  • Prices are based on using our in-house catering and bar.
  • Our quotes do not include KCC Registrar fees which are payable direct to KCC. For their latest prices please visit: www.akentishceremony.com
  • At the time of booking a minimum non-refundable deposit of £750.00 is required. The full payment is due 4 weeks before the event date. Prices are subject to change until a deposit has been paid to hold your booking. Prices are correct at the time of printing (01.09.2022).
  • Unfortunately, there are no options for the hotel to be used as a ‘dry-hire venue’. Food and beverage requirements must be included with all enquiries. Equipment can be provided from within the hotel at a cost, however, should a customer wish to bring outside equipment into the hotel it is at the discretion of the management, and evidence must be provided to ensure that it has been tested and is safe to use. The Best Western Clifton Hotel will accept no liability for outside equipment brought into the hotel and would insist that compliance with the rules as set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974, is complied with. For any thirdparty contractors visiting the hotel (such as Bands, and Entertainers) under your instruction you must ensure current and adequate Public Liability Insurance is in place. Copies of electrical testing certificates and insurance policies must be made available to the hotel management on request. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any outside supplier fully complies with all regulations.
  • The hotel reserves the right to charge in full the person booking the wedding for any damage caused to the hotel or its property during any event by any third party or guest involved with the wedding. Wedding Guests are to be advised by the person booking the wedding that children are always the responsibility of their parents, and the hotel takes no responsibility for any accidents, or incidents that may occur.
  • All Food and Beverage is to be purchased from the Hotel and it is the responsibility of the person signing this contract to ensure that guests at their function do not bring their own food and beverage items to the function, unless agreed with the hotel beforehand. Any such items found will be removed and will be charged for at the existing Hotel prices.
  • Please be advised that for all functions and reservations, the hotel does have a cancellation policy. Guest numbers can of course be changed, however if the number goes down significantly, the cancellation charges may be applied at the discretion of the hotel management. The hotel also reserves the right, if guest numbers are significantly reduced, to re-allocate the designated function room, to one or more relevant to the size of the event. All non-arrivals on the day of any event will be charged for in full. The cancellation policy is applied as follows: If cancelled 12 weeks prior to the function – 25% of the total booking value is to be paid by the customer; If cancelled 4-12 weeks prior to the function – 50% of the total booking value is to be paid by the customer; if cancelled less than 4 weeks prior to the function – 100 % of the total booking value is to be paid by the customer.
